As a Quantum Healing Facilitator, I often have conversations with clients about the many myths surrounding hypnosis in Quantum Healing sessions.
Myths regarding hypnosis are everywhere but are most often inaccurate. While there are many great resources available, this list brings them together in one place for my clients or for anyone interested in exploring. It will remain ever-evolving, just like us.
“If I’m really hypnotized, I should get all my answers and be completely healed, right?”
Not necessarily, and here’s why that matters.
Your Higher Self is incredibly wise and sometimes knows that certain information or healings aren’t in your best interest right now. I’ve had sessions where the Higher Self gently declined to answer a question because revealing that information would interfere with an experience the person needed to have for their own growth. Other times, it’s about timing—you’re just not ready yet. There can also be karmic reasons, soul contracts, or incarnation agreements at play that we don’t fully understand from our human perspective.
This doesn’t mean your session didn’t work. It means your Higher Self is protecting and guiding you in ways that serve your highest good.
“What if I accidentally reveal something I don’t want to share?”
This one comes from too many movies where hypnosis is portrayed as some kind of truth serum. Let me be clear: you are never going to say anything you don’t want to say.
During hypnosis, your mind stays conscious. You’re aware of what’s happening. You might remember things you’d forgotten or gain insights you didn’t expect, but you’re always in control of what you choose to share. The beautiful part is that you’ll naturally reveal what you’re ready to know and process. Nothing more, nothing less.
“I felt aware the whole time—does that mean it didn’t work?”
Actually, it probably means it worked perfectly.
Hypnosis isn’t about being knocked unconscious. Most people tell me they felt more aware than usual, not less. You might notice sounds more clearly, feel more present in your body, or have sharper mental focus. That heightened awareness is exactly what we’re looking for. It’s a state similar to deep meditation, not sleep.
“Do I really need to come back for multiple sessions?”
Here’s what I love about both QHHT and BQH: they’re designed to empower you, not create dependency.
With QHHT, most people find that one session gives them what they need. These sessions are long—we’re talking 4 to 6 hours—because we go deep. We do the regression, connect with your Higher Self, and facilitate healing all in one go. Some people choose to come back later with new questions or to explore further, but that’s totally up to you.
BQH offers more flexibility and works beautifully for single or multiple sessions, depending on what you’re working through.
The point is, I’m not here to keep you coming back. My whole goal is to help you remember how to connect with your own inner guidance so you can access it anytime, anywhere, without needing me or anyone else. That’s what drew me to this work in the first place.
“Can hypnosis bring back repressed memories?”
Sometimes, yes. But there are no guarantees, and honestly, that’s by design.
Memories get repressed for a reason—usually to protect you. They tend to resurface naturally when you’re ready to handle them in a way that won’t cause more harm. I’ve seen the Higher Self block certain memories from coming up because the timing wasn’t right, or because knowing them would interfere with the person’s path in ways that wouldn’t serve them.
Here’s something else: you don’t always need to remember the details to heal from them. Your Higher Self and spiritual team see the bigger picture. They can address the emotional, behavioral, or mental effects of trauma without you having to relive the original event. Sometimes healing happens when we work with what’s showing up in the present moment rather than digging into the past.
“Can I choose which past life or event I want to visit?”
Spirit actually gave Dolores Cannon a clear answer on this one: no.
She was told that we need to limit our experiences to only those areas that bring understanding and enlightenment. It’s not wise to explore lifetimes that would bring disharmony, because that’s not the point of this work. Your Higher Self will take you exactly where you need to go, even if it’s not where you thought you wanted to go.
“Can I lie during hypnosis?”
Technically, yes. But why would you?
Hypnosis isn’t a truth serum. You’re fully conscious, so you could choose to lie if you wanted to. But doing that would completely defeat the purpose of your session. You’d only be lying to yourself, and that’s not going to help you heal or grow.
“Won’t my conscious mind get in the way?”
Your conscious mind will probably make an appearance, and that’s totally normal.
Hypnosis isn’t a drug that shuts off your thinking mind. Your thoughts will come and go like waves. You might notice your ego trying to introduce doubts or fears—that’s just your human defense mechanism doing what it thinks is its job. The key is to observe those thoughts without getting caught up in them. Let them pass by without judgment, and they’ll naturally fade.
Allowance, trust, and surrender are your best friends here.
“Could the practitioner make me do something silly or mess with my mind?”
Absolutely not, and your Higher Self wouldn’t allow it anyway.
Nothing can happen during a session that you wouldn’t willingly do in a fully conscious state. Your free will is always intact. Your Higher Self is there protecting you, and your subconscious will automatically reject anything that doesn’t align with your truth or beliefs. You’re awake and aware the entire time.
“Is hypnosis dangerous? What if I can’t snap out of it?”
This is another movie myth that needs to go.
In a hypnotic trance, you’re in a state that millions of people actively seek through meditation. You’re in heightened awareness, not some dangerous altered state. You might feel deeply relaxed afterward, like you just had a really refreshing nap, but you’re always in control and fully aware. There’s nothing to “snap out of.”
“Will I only hear things that make me feel good?”
Not always, and that’s actually okay.
Your Higher Self only reveals what’s appropriate and serves your highest good, but sometimes growth comes through challenge. New information can definitely bring up emotions—sometimes uncomfortable ones—but those moments are often exactly what we need to break through old patterns and expand our understanding.
If something feels difficult to hear, try to look at it from a higher perspective. Ask yourself why you might be receiving this information right now. That shift in viewpoint can turn discomfort into a powerful catalyst for growth.
“How will I know if my session was successful?”
If you’re measuring success by getting everything on your wish list, you might be setting yourself up for disappointment.
Your Higher Self knows what you truly need, which isn’t always what you think you want. Sometimes our expectations actually become obstacles that prevent us from being hypnotized or receiving healing. Trust that what you receive is exactly what you need in this moment.
Success might look like finally understanding why you’ve been carrying a certain fear, or releasing a pattern you’ve repeated for lifetimes, or simply feeling a sense of peace you haven’t felt in years. It’s rarely about checking boxes.
“I can’t visualize images, so this won’t work for me.”
Everyone perceives differently, and that’s completely fine.
Some people see vivid images. Others feel sensations, have strong intuitive knowing, pick up on scents or sounds, or work purely through imagination. There’s no right or way to experience a session.
Don’t try to force images or make them look a certain way. Just relax and trust whatever comes up, like you’re watching a movie and simply describing what you’re observing. “Seeing” might mean understanding or sensing something without a visual picture. For example, can you “see” a flower in your mind without actually being in front of one? That’s all you need.
“I want to just go with the flow, so I’m not going to prepare or read the materials.”
I hear this a lot, and I get it—you want to stay open. But preparation actually helps with that.
The materials I provide aren’t meant to create expectations or limit your experience. They’re designed to empower you. They give you the tools and understanding to create a solid foundation, build confidence, address concerns, and help you relax. They also open your mind to new possibilities so you can receive more during your session.
Think of practices like quieting your mind and daydreaming as ways to enhance your receptivity. This allows your imagination to flow more naturally when we begin.
“After doing all this research, I won’t have any expectations.”
Expectations are natural—we’re human. Don’t try to eliminate them completely.
Instead, share them honestly with me. This actually strengthens our energetic connection and helps us transform rigid expectations into open-ended hopes. The goal is to expect the unexpected. Be open to experiences like seeing yourself as pure energy or exploring scenarios you never could have imagined. That’s where the magic happens.
“The Higher Self is just me making things up.”
Yes and no.
Your Higher Self is guiding the session, so in that sense, yes, it is “you.” But it’s not you in the literal, everyday sense. Your Higher Self is the wisest, most evolved, non-physical aspect of you—the part that knows your soul’s purpose, remembers your past lives, and understands your life lessons.
When thoughts come through, trust them. Let doubts pass without judgment. Speak freely, without filtering, just like you would if you were daydreaming. That’s your Higher Self communicating.
“My Higher Self healed me, but I’m still struggling. It must not have worked.”
Healing doesn’t always happen on our preferred timeline.
Some healings manifest immediately. Others integrate over weeks or months. Your genuine desire, belief, and alignment with your Higher Self are essential to the process. Sometimes people are unconsciously attached to their ailments because they’ve become part of their identity, and that can block healing.
The Higher Self may also allow or withhold certain healings based on what serves your highest good—karmic lessons, life purposes, or experiences you still need to have.
Belief is huge. If you truly believe a healing will occur, it can. But doubt can block it. This is why I always recommend listening to your recorded session afterward. It helps reinforce the guidance, insights, and healing process over time.
“Past life regression is just imagination. It’s not real.”
Your imagination is actually the bridge to your subconscious.
Whether what comes through is symbolic or literal doesn’t really matter—the healing happens because of what your mind and soul reveal. The subconscious speaks in symbols, emotions, and impressions. You don’t need to remember exact names, dates, or locations for it to be real or meaningful. What matters is the insight and healing you receive.
“Past life work is only about healing trauma and releasing karma.”
That’s part of it, but there’s so much more.
Past life work can awaken talents, gifts, confidence, strengthen relationships, and illuminate your life purpose. It’s not just about what needs to be healed—it’s also about what needs to be remembered and reclaimed.
“Traumatic experiences are punishments for past karma.”
No. This is a harmful misunderstanding.
Traumatic experiences are not punishments. They’re opportunities for deep learning and growth. Life events, even the painful ones, are often chosen at a soul level to help release karmic patterns and evolve spiritually.
When you heal and understand the lesson behind the trauma, you free yourself from needing to repeat the same patterns in future lifetimes. This evolution doesn’t just serve you—it serves all the energies and spiritual beings working together for collective growth. Everything is connected.
“QHHT and BQH use techniques that control your mind.”
It’s actually the opposite.
This work is about helping you gently connect with your own inner wisdom. You are always aware and in control during the process. There’s no mind control, no manipulation, no hidden agenda.
“These sessions create dependency on the facilitator.”
This is exactly what drew me to QHHT and BQH—they do the opposite.
Both approaches encourage self-trust and independence. The goal is to reconnect you with your own inner guide, not to make you reliant on me or anyone else. This aligns completely with my practice and the intuitive sessions I offer. I want you to walk away knowing how to access your own wisdom, on your own terms, whenever you need it.
I hope this clears up some of the confusion and concerns you might have had. Quantum Healing work is powerful, transformative, and deeply personal. The more you understand what to expect—and what not to expect—the more open you can be to receiving exactly what your soul needs.
If you have questions I didn’t cover here, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to talk through what this process really looks like.
