Doing the Work To Connect with Your Guides and Higher Self

Doing the work means walking the path toward becoming more of your true Self. Tuning in, showing up even when its hard, and learning to recognize the difference between who you have been told you are and who you truly are.

Failing and falling into your ever evolving self is my favorite part of it. We are always changing and the person you are in this moment is not the same person who will finish reading this.

Every breath, thought, and moment is shifting something within us. Not in a dramatic way, but one that is subtle and continuous, whether we are paying attention or not.

When I asked my Higher Self what I was here for, it answered simply: “To live.”

My response was, “What?! That’s it?!” along with confusion and perhaps disappointment because I had expected it to be something that was awe inspiring.

Over time as I continued to strengthen my connection it expanded on this simple statement. Life is not about reaching a destination, it is an ongoing process of becoming. Of doing the actual work here rather than always looking upward toward other dimensions for answers, which is where I kept searching. The answers were here in the doing, the roots, in the groundwork.

That HD conversation is partly what inspired my practice and this blog. To always be in the intention of ever expanding, ever evolving, and ever aligned.

There is also another deeply personal experience tied to the origin of Evergreen, one that I will share separately when the timing is right.

A Few Things That Helped Me

Here are a few ways that helped me when I started to strengthen my connection:

🌲 Spend a few minutes each day journaling your thoughts or feelings. Without editing.

🌲 Notice your core values and let them quietly guide your choices rather than external noise.

🌲 Pay attention to what energizes you and what depletes you.

🌲 Be in nature at least once a week. Not to do anything in particular. Just to be in it.

🌲 Give yourself permission to be imperfect. Not as a consolation but as an actual practice.

The work is not always visible or measurable. Sometimes it looks like falling apart and sometimes it looks like our everyday habits or tasks like doing the dishes.

The main point here is to just keep going anyway. So with much love, keep failing and falling, again and again, into who you are becoming.

Until next time, may you always be evergreen. Ever expanding, ever evolving, ever aligned.
