Hypnosis Myths: What Quantum Healing Really Feels Like
As a Quantum Healing Facilitator I receive the same questions and concerns regularly. Some come from genuine curiosity, others from years of watching hypnosis portrayed in films in ways that have nothing to do with what actually happens in a session. I wanted to bring them all together in one place and answer them honestly.
“If I’m really hypnotized, I should get all my answers and be completely healed, right?”
Not necessarily, and here is why that matters.
Your Higher Self is incredibly wise and sometimes knows that certain information or healings are not in your best interest right now. I have had sessions where the Higher Self gently declined to answer a question because revealing that information would interfere with an experience the person still needed to have. Other times it is simply about timing. You are just not ready yet.
There can also be soul contracts or incarnation agreements at play that we do not fully understand from a human perspective. This does not mean your session did not work. It means your Higher Self is guiding you in ways that serve you, even when that guidance is not what you expected.
“What if I accidentally reveal something I don’t want to share?”
This comes from too many films where hypnosis is portrayed as a truth serum. It is not.
During hypnosis your mind stays conscious. You are aware of what is happening throughout. You might remember things you had forgotten or receive insights you did not expect, but you are always in control of what you choose to share. You will naturally reveal what you are ready to know and process. Nothing more, nothing less.
“I felt aware the whole time. Does that mean it didn’t work?”
It probably means it worked perfectly.
Hypnosis is not about being knocked unconscious. Most people tell me they felt more aware than usual, not less. You might notice sounds more clearly, feel more present in your body, or have sharper mental focus. That heightened awareness is exactly what we are looking for. It is a state similar to deep meditation, not sleep.
“Do I need to come back for multiple sessions?”
Both QHHT and BQH are designed to give you what you need without creating dependency.
With QHHT, most people find that one session covers what they came for. These sessions run four to six hours and cover the regression, the Higher Self connection, and any healing that is appropriate, all in one sitting. Some people choose to return later with new questions or to go deeper, but that is entirely up to them.
BQH offers more flexibility and works well for single or multiple sessions depending on what you are working through.
I am not here to keep you coming back. My goal is to help you remember how to access your own inner guidance so you can do so without needing me or anyone else. That is part of what drew me to this work in the first place.
“Can hypnosis bring back repressed memories?”
Sometimes, yes. But there are no guarantees and that is by design.
Memories get repressed for a reason. Usually to protect you. They tend to resurface naturally when you are ready to handle them in a way that will not cause more harm. I have seen the Higher Self block certain memories from coming up because the timing was not right, or because knowing them would interfere with the person’s path in ways that would not serve them.
This happened in my own session. My Higher Self told me it was not necessary to see all of it and instead highlighted what I needed to focus on at that time.
You do not always need to remember the details to heal from them. Your Higher Self and spiritual team can address the emotional, behavioral, and mental effects of an experience without you having to relive the original event. Sometimes the most significant shifts happen when we work with what is showing up in the present rather than reaching back into the past.
“Can I choose which past life or event I want to visit?”
No, and there is a clear reason for that.
Dolores Cannon was told directly by Spirit that we need to limit our experiences to only those that bring understanding and growth. It is not useful to explore lifetimes that would bring disharmony because that is not the purpose of this work. Your Higher Self will take you exactly where you need to go, even if it is not where you expected or wanted to go.
“Can I lie during hypnosis?”
Technically yes. But the only person you would be lying to is yourself.
You are fully conscious during hypnosis, so you could choose to withhold or change something if you wanted to. But doing so would completely defeat the purpose of your session. This work only goes as deep as your honesty allows.
“Won’t my conscious mind get in the way?”
Your conscious mind will probably make an appearance and that is completely normal.
Hypnosis does not shut off your thinking mind. Thoughts will come and go and you might notice doubt or resistance creeping in. That is just your mind doing what it perceives as its job. The key is to observe those thoughts without getting caught up in them. Let them pass without judgment and they will naturally fade.
Allowance, trust, and surrender.
“Could the practitioner make me do something silly or mess with my mind?”
Absolutely not, and your Higher Self would not allow it anyway.
Nothing can happen during a session that you would not willingly do in a fully conscious state. Your free will is always intact. Your Higher Self is present throughout and your subconscious will automatically reject anything that does not align with your truth. You are awake and aware the entire time.
“Is hypnosis dangerous? What if I can’t snap out of it?”
This is a film myth.
In a hypnotic state you are in a level of awareness that millions of people actively seek through meditation. It is not a dangerous altered state. You might feel deeply relaxed afterward, similar to waking from a genuinely restful sleep, but you are always in control. There is nothing to snap out of.
“Will I only hear things that make me feel good?”
Not always, and that is actually okay.
Your Higher Self only reveals what is appropriate and serves you, but sometimes growth comes through challenge. New information can bring up emotions, sometimes uncomfortable ones, and those moments are often exactly what is needed to move through old patterns and expand understanding.
If something feels difficult to hear, try shifting your perspective on it. Ask yourself why you might be receiving this information right now. That shift can turn discomfort into something genuinely useful.
“How will I know if my session was successful?”
If you are measuring success by getting every answer on your list, you may be setting yourself up for disappointment.
Your Higher Self knows what you truly need, which is not always what you think you want. Sometimes expectations become the very thing that prevents you from receiving. Trust that what you receive is exactly what you need in that moment.
Success might look like finally understanding why you have carried a certain fear for years. Or releasing a pattern you have repeated across lifetimes. Or simply feeling a quiet sense of peace you have not felt in a long time. It is rarely about checking boxes.
“I can’t visualize images, so this won’t work for me.”
Everyone perceives differently and in the way that is most natural to them.
Some people see vivid images. Others feel sensations, have a strong knowing, pick up on sounds or scents, or work purely through imagination. There is no right or wrong way to experience a session.
Do not try to force images or make them look a certain way. Simply relax and trust whatever comes up, as if you are watching a film and describing what you observe.
Seeing might mean understanding or sensing something without a visual picture at all. For example, can you picture a flower in your mind without being in front of one? That is all you need.
“I want to just go with the flow, so I’m not going to prepare or read the materials.”
I understand the instinct to stay open. But preparation actually supports that rather than limiting it.
The materials I provide are not designed to create expectations. They are there to give you a foundation, build confidence, address any concerns, and help you relax before we begin. They also open your mind to possibilities you may not have considered, which means you can receive more during the session rather than less.
Practices like quieting the mind and daydreaming are not just suggestions. They genuinely strengthen your ability to receive when we begin.
“After doing all this research, I won’t have any expectations.”
Expectations are natural. Do not try to eliminate them completely.
Instead, bring them up honestly in our consultation. Sharing them openly actually helps us both. It strengthens the connection and allows us to work with those expectations rather than around them. The goal is not to have no expectations but to remain open to something beyond them. Including experiences you never could have anticipated or imagined.
“The Higher Self is just me making things up.”
Yes and no.
Your Higher Self is guiding the session, so in that sense yes, it is you. But it is not you in the everyday literal sense. It is the most evolved, non-physical aspect of you. The part that knows your soul’s purpose, remembers your past lives, and understands your lessons in ways your conscious mind cannot fully access.
When thoughts come through, trust them and let the doubts pass without judgment. Speaking freely without filtering the way you would if you were daydreaming will allow insights to flow.
“My Higher Self healed me, but I’m still struggling. It must not have worked.”
Healing does not always happen on our preferred timeline.
Some shifts happen immediately. Others integrate over weeks or months. Your genuine openness and trust in the process are essential. Sometimes people are unconsciously attached to what they are experiencing because it has become part of how they identify themselves, and that can slow or block the process.
Your Higher Self may also allow or withhold certain healings based on what serves you in ways we cannot always see from a human perspective. These could be lessons still in progress, soul agreements, or experiences you still need to move through.
Belief matters more than most people realize. If you genuinely trust that a healing will occur, it can. However, doubt can create resistance. This is one of the reasons I always recommend listening to your recorded session afterward because it reinforces what came through and allows things to integrate in their own time.
You will also notice that details fade over time, similar to a dream. I still listen to my own recordings and consistently find something new, either something that did not make sense at the time and now does, or something I was not ready to receive at the time.
“Past life regression is just my imagination.”
Your imagination is a bridge to your subconscious mind and to higher dimensions.
The subconscious communicates through symbols, emotions, and impressions. You do not need exact names, dates, or locations for the experience to be real or meaningful. What matters is what you receive and what shifts as a result.
“Past life work is only about healing trauma and releasing karma.”
That is part of it but there is much more.
Past life work can awaken dormant gifts, restore confidence, deepen relationships, and reveal your life purpose. It is not only about what needs to be healed. It is equally about what needs to be remembered.
“Traumatic experiences are punishments for past karma.”
No. This is a misunderstanding that I want to address directly.
Traumatic experiences are not punishments. They are opportunities for deep learning and growth. Events in our lives, even the most painful ones, are often chosen at a soul level to help release patterns and evolve. Think of karma not as consequence but as rebalancing, the soul recalibrating across lifetimes toward its own equilibrium.
When you understand the lesson within the experience, you free yourself from needing to repeat the same pattern. If you would like to read more about the topic of karma, you can do so [here].
“QHHT and BQH use techniques that control your mind.”
It is actually the opposite.
This work is about helping you remember how to connect with your own inner wisdom. You are always aware and in control throughout the process. There is no manipulation, no hidden agenda. I am only a guide, facilitating a process of remembering what is already within you.
“These sessions create dependency on the facilitator.”
This is part of what drew me to QHHT and BQH specifically because they do the opposite.
Both approaches encourage self trust and independence. The goal is to reconnect you with your own inner guidance, not to create reliance on me or anyone else. This runs through everything I offer. I want you to walk away knowing how to access your own wisdom on your own terms, whenever you need it.
I hope this answers some of the questions you may have had. Quantum healing is powerful and deeply personal, and the more honest you can be with yourself going in, the more open you will be to receiving what your soul actually needs.
Before any session I offer a free 30 minute video or phone consultation. Not to sell you on the experience but because I genuinely believe that not every practitioner is the right fit for every person. It is a chance for us both to feel whether this is right before committing to anything. You can reach out and book yours [here].
